SBDP Elects Richard Campione of SAP AG to its Board of Trustees

AUSTIN, TEXAS – May 14, 2008 - The Society for Business Development Professionals (SBDP), the world's premier professional association of large-account sales and business development professionals (BDPs), announced today the addition of software industry luminary Richard Campione to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Campione currently serves as Senior Vice President of Suite Solution Management at SAP AG, reporting to SAP Board Member Jim Hagemann Snabe. Previously, he worked at Siebel Systems in several senior executive roles.

In his role as an SBDP Trustee, Mr. Campione, along with the rest of the Board, will be responsible for helping to set membership standards that promote professionalism and ensure the successful future of the organization as a whole. The Board of Trustees has authority over the admission of members and examination standards. The Board establishes continuing professional education requirements, and is also responsible for modifying and enforcing the SBDP Code of Professional Ethics and all other matters necessary to maintain the high standards of the SBDP.

Mr. Campione has held roles in product management, development, sales, consulting, business development, general management, and as a CEO. He has worked in a variety of companies ranging from established public companies such as Oracle and Hewlett Packard to startup enterprises. Campione has also served as a management consultant working with Venture Capitalists.

Mr. Campione joined SAP in 2005 and led the Industry Solution Marketing team, with a strong focus on championing the market perspective and value-based selling. In the summer of 2007, he took over additional responsibility for Application Solution Marketing and led the Suite Strategy and Suite Spot initiatives. Prior to joining SAP, Mr. Campione worked at Siebel Systems where he held three distinct roles: Vice President and General Manager of the Communications, Media and Energy Worldwide businesses; Group Vice President, Worldwide Sales Consulting; and Group Vice President & General Manager of the Financial Services and Public Sector businesses. In addition, he led the Competitive Sales and Strategy team.

Mr. Campione holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He presently lives in Heidelberg, Germany.
