SBDP names Paul Temple of Network Appliance to Board of Trustees
AUSTIN, TEXAS - December 18, 2007 - The Society of Business Development Professionals (SBDP), the world's premier association of elite-level enterprise sales and business development professionals (BDPs), announced today the addition of Paul Temple to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Temple currently serves as a Business Development Professional for Network Appliance, Inc. (NetApp), dedicated to the Federal market sector.
In his role as a SBDP Trustee, Mr. Temple, along with the rest of the Board, will be responsible for helping to set membership standards that promote professionalism and ensure the future of the organization as a whole. The Board of Trustees has authority over the admission of members and examination standards. The Board establishes continuing professional education requirements, and is also responsible for modifying and enforcing the SBDP Code of Professional Ethics and all other matters necessary to maintain the high standards of the SBDP.

Mr. Temple has a wealth of knowledge and experience applicable to the Society's members. He has successfully championed numerous corporate and government business development campaigns which inserted cutting edge technology to the Office of the Secretary of Defense and other cabinet level offices and defense/intelligence programs. He has an in-depth understanding of the system integrator community, federal programs, and has championed numerous marketing campaigns, sales efforts/wins, congressional/lobbying efforts (wins), and program captures for high performance computing, data management, and advanced visualization.

Assisting in Mr. Temple's business development and sales process is his past in which he has performed for numerous military Major Commands supporting joint service, national, military and intelligence operations worldwide. His intimate knowledge and operational experience of the defense and intelligence community was developed during his highly decorated 21+ years of government service. Paul’s breadth of experience and awareness of operational requirements are based on strong foundations developed during tours in the intelligence community, special mission units, regular strategic and tactical units, joint service assignments, Under Secretary, Secretary of Defense and Joint level organizations.
Mr. Temple has an MBA from University of California, an MA from University of Virginia, and a BS in Business from the University of the State of New York. He has attended higher institutions of education such as the FBI National Academy, the Naval Postgraduate School, the Defense Language Institute (German/Chinese Linguist), Counter Terrorism Courses at SOCOM, DIA and RAND, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) High Risk School, US Army Ranger Indoctrination Program and Ranger School, Special Operations Course, Airborne, Air Assault, and the French Commando School.
Mr. Temple has attended distinguished corporate courses in Solution Selling, Customer Centric Selling, Carnegie Mellon, and Miller-Heimann Selling Techniques. He has an exceptional and diverse defense portfolio such as the Advanced Technical and Counterintelligence (CI) Agents, Joint Intelligence, Multi-disciplined Counter Intelligence Analysis (DIA) and Joint Special Operations courses. He attended the Surveillance and Counter-Surveillance, Reid Primary and Advanced Interrogation courses. The Defense Against Methods of Entry, US Army Instructors Training, the Media Relations for Law Enforcement Professionals (Dept Of Justice) and Security Manager courses.
Mr. Temple has been married to wife Nina for 28 years and has two children, Mia, 26 and Eliot, 22. Nina and Paul enjoy extreme cycling, running, climbing, motocross, car racing and hiking.
