L. Staley discusses the 'credibility gap' with several experienced business development professionals, and provides guidance for how to become "indispensable.' (Keep reading...)

The more quality relationships the better, and for me, if I can't help my client or contact with something, it is critical that I know whom I can trust to send them to." Amanda is involved with several local start-ups in her hometown of Austin, Texas, as well as several non-profit associations.

Amanda currently serves as Global Account Executive at CapGemini. Her verticals include High Tech, Manufacturing, Travel & Hospitality, to Retail & Financial Services.

The Lighter Side - 'War Stories' From the Field
Man Yelling - War Stories from the FieldWe BDPs are a tough lot and have the scars to prove it. Have a good one about a deal that went off the tracks or saved from the jaws of defeat? Send us your stories to members@sdbp.org.

This month's War Story comes from SBDP Member Simon Akeroyd of Bangkok, Thailand... "My story is about a total breakdown in negotiation with a Chinese company in Beijing. Their entire team erupted in outrage and stormed out of the board room. That was at 6pm. We were left stunned for 3 hours - they sent bad food and told us they would return soon. But they didn't return until midnight. They actually came back in one at a time (at fifteen minute intervals) until 2:30 am when the Chairman returned and unilaterally announced that "Now we will make a deal. What is agreed now, will not be changed.' We left with a deal - but their Chairman changed his mind 2 days later!"

Thanks Simon!
