SBDP Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is elected by the Certified Members of the Society and is responsible for setting membership standards that promote professionalism and ensure the growth of the organization.

Board members bring Fortune 500 and C-level BDP experience to their leadership roles. The Board has authority over the admission of members, including but not limited to examination standards. The Board establishes professional education requirements and is responsible for determining, modifying and enforcing the SBDP Code of Professional Ethics and all other matters necessary to maintain the high standards of the Society.

SBDP Board of Trustees Chairman -Greg W. Gregory T. Wilk

Greg brings two decades of leadership and business development experience to the Society. As Vice President, Sales Operations, Global Sales for EDS, Greg led a team focused on rebuilding the sales culture, sales processes, automation, compensation & recognition, recruitment, and training worldwide for a sales force of over 500 BDPs. As a hands-on leader, his integrity, wisdom and fierce resolve have guided him well in successfully transforming Fortune 500 sales organizations. In his role as SBDP Trustee Chairman, Greg, along with the rest of the Board, is responsible for helping to set membership standards that promote professionalism and ensure the future of the organization as a whole. Place 2, SBDP Board of Trustees - Dr. Gary Cadenhead

Dr. Cadenhead adds invaluable experience as we enhance the credibility of the CBDP Program. Gary earned an MBA from Harvard and received his PhD in accounting from Stanford, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University. As a Senior Lecturer in at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, Gary has extensive knowledge of business strategy and operations and has taught MBA courses in management accounting, strategy, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Cadenhead has held faculty positions at Stanford University, UCLA, and the University of California at Santa Barbara. BDP-related Experience: Deloitte.

 

 

Place 3, SBDP Board of Trustees - Richard Campione Richard Campione

Richard is a leading industry expert in enterprise sales environments. He currently serves as SVP of Suite Solution Management at SAP AG. Previously, Richard worked at Siebel Systems where he held three distinct roles: VP and GM of the Communications, Media and Energy Worldwide businesses; Group VP, Worldwide Sales Consulting; and Group VP & General Manager of the Financial Services and Public Sector businesses, and led the Competitive Sales and Strategy team. Richard has held roles in product management, development, sales, consulting, business development, general management, and as a CEO. He has worked in a variety of companies ranging from established public companies such as Oracle and Hewlett Packard to startup enterprises. He holds a MS Computer Science, a BS in EE, and a BS in Biology, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Richard presently lives in Heidelberg, Germany. BDP-related Experience: SAP, Siebel, Oracle, HP

 

Place 4, SBDP Board of Trustees -Paul Temple

Paul Temple Bio Paul brings the big guns to our Society. He is an expert in business development and operational subject matter within the Dept. of Defense, Homeland Security and the Intelligence Community. Paul is Vice President of Business Development Strategy at SAIC International in the Security intelligence and Operations Division, prior to which he served as a BDP for Network Appliance, Inc. (NetApp) to the Federal market sector. His clients include the Office of the Secretary of Defense and other cabinet-level offices and defense/intelligence programs. Paul has an in-depth understanding of the System Integrator (SI) community, federal programs, and has championed sales efforts, lobbying wins and program captures for high performance computing, data management, and advanced visualization. He has an MBA from University of California, an MA from UVa, and a BS in Business from the University of the State of New York. Paul currently resides in Monterrey, California. BDP-related Experience: SAIC, NetApp, Silicon Graphics, Inc.

 

Place 5, SBDP Board of Trustees - Mr. Jim Dickie

Jim is a Managing Partner with CSO Insights, a research firm that specializes in benchmarking how companies are leveraging people, process, and technology to optimize the way they market to, sell to, and service customers. He has over 29 years of sales and marketing management experience. Jim began his career with IBM and Sterling Software and then went on to launch two successful software companies. He is a contributing editor for CRM Magazine, CRM Guru, SoftwareMag.com, and Harvard Business Review; he is also the author of The Chief Sales Officers Guide to CRM, Insights into High Tech Sales and Marketing, and the co-author of The Sales & Marketing Excellence Challenge and The Information Technology Challenge. He is a board member for Baylor University's Center for Professional Selling, a guest host on World Business Review, a Trustee for The Morris Animal Foundation, and an often-requested keynote speaker at sales effectiveness, sales management, CRM and E-Business conferences. Jim resides in Boulder, Colorado USA. BDP-related Experience: IBM, Sterling Software.

 

Place 6, SBDP Board of Trustees - Ms. Jill Konrath

Best-selling author Jill Konrath is a widely-known thought leader, sales strategist and trainer. She is a renowned speaker and advisor on the subject of complex selling and has counseled such venerable institutions as IBM, 3M, GE, General Mills, Medtronic, UnitedHealthcare, Bombardier, and Hilton Hotels on matters of strategic selling and account management.  She is the author of Selling to Big Companies, an Amazon Top 25 sales book. Most recently, Fortune magazine selecter her book as one of eight "must read" sales reads. Jill also publishes an industry-leading newsletter and hosts a widely-read blog, and is a founder of the Sales SheBang conference & community to empower women sellers to succeed in the complex selling arena. Jill began her selling career at Xerox, then migrated into technology sales; she later started her own consultancy with a focus on helping sales organizations jumpstart the sales of their new product, services and solutions. She has written hundreds of articles on sales strategies and is frequently quoted in top business media and has appeared in Inc., Crains, Entrepreneur, New York Times, Business Journal, Selling Power, Sales & Marketing Management as well as countless online publications and radio shows. Jill currently resides in Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota.

 

SBDP Executive Director - Jonathan Gilliam

With a solid background in C-level Enterprise Sales and Business Development, Jonathan has appeared in numerous international articles, conferences, and radio and television broadcasts as a speaker on high tech industry issues. Prior to founding the Society, Jonathan served as a BDP at Deloitte in one of the firm’s fastest-growing practices and helped launch the firm's flagship anti-fraud product. Previously, Jonathan was Co-Founder and CEO of Hush Communications Corporation, a leading Internet security software company based in Austin, Texas and Dublin, Ireland. Jonathan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and later graduated from the Rice University publishing program. Jonathan is currently authoring a book on business development-related topics. BDP-related Experience: Deloitte, HushCom, 21st Century Technologies.

 

 

 

Any Certified Business Development Professional member in good standing may apply for a position on the Board of Trustees. Elections are held annually to fill vacant positions. All Trustees elected shall serve two-year terms and hold office until their successors are duly elected. A Trustee may serve only one term and is not eligible for re-election.
